13-14 October 2018
WA Goes Big has been the biggest Geocaching event in WA, firstly in 2013 and 2015 in Busselton. The 2016 event in Pinjarra was a huge success. Last year the WestOz Geocaching committee decided on a more metropolitan location for WAGB and the Gary Holland Community Center in Rockingham was chosen as the venue. A great turn out again with heaps of fun but this year its time to head south again.
Where is it all happening??

A Geocaching event is a gathering of Geocachers. You can expect all the normal things that people do when they get together with other people who share a common interest. Well ours is Geocaching. So expect to hear stories told of caches found and caches missed. Of puzzles that you think you’re on the right track to solving but just can’t get there. Of travels and holidays where geocaching was the tour guide.
There will be new geocachers and experienced geocachers, there will be young geocachers and older geocachers, there will be geocaching families and there will be individual geocachers, there will be cachers from around the corner and there will be geocachers flying in from interstate, there will even be muggles young and old all with the common aim of sharing experiences and making new friends.
The event will be cram packed with fun, with games in/around the venue. You can expect to bump into Geocachers all through town as they go out to find geocaches and collect items on the scavenge lists.
It is a good place to learn about those Geocaching things you have been wondering about for a while, guaranteed someone will know the answer to your question no matter how obscure.
Throughout the weekend, information sessions will be held in varying formats, on topics like different Phone apps, Puzzles, wherigo caches, earthcaches and GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife). A full timetable will be published in advance of the Weekend.
Not yet finalised, but we envisage it will be from 12 noon in the main hall. This listing will be updated with any changes. This later than normal starting time will give you all a bit of time to do some caching in the morning beforehand though. Who knows, there may even be a "pre-event event" to help you fill in your time.
